Supporting wholesale on the journey to Net Zero
Sustainability is a major focus for Food & Drink Wholesale UK, and our Wholesale Sector Roadmap to Net Zero is one of our most ambitious projects yet. Created with sustainability experts 3Keel and the Scottish Wholesale Association, it gives wholesalers clear tools, data and guidance to take meaningful climate action.
Because wholesalers directly control only a small share of overall emissions, working closely with suppliers, manufacturers and customers is essential. The roadmap also highlights the key government policies needed to support decarbonisation across the sector.

Net Zero Roadmap
Launched in 2023, the Wholesale Sector Net Zero Roadmap sets out an ambitious plan for the wholesale sector to reach Net Zero by 2040 - ten years ahead of the Government target. Developed specifically for wholesale, the roadmap provides clear direction on where emissions sit, where action is needed, and how businesses can make meaningful progress.

Emissions Calculator
Reaching Net Zero begins by knowing where your emissions come from and how to reduce them. That’s why we’ve worked with 3Keel and SWA in developing a carbon emissions calculator, to help members measure, understand and track their carbon footprint, turning complex data into clear, usable insight. By calculating your emissions, you can benchmark performance, set realistic targets and build a credible roadmap towards Net Zero. This is about moving from intention to action.
